I genuinely believe most images are over touched. Most good pictures only require a little cleanup to see the magic. The magic here is the solar flares not visible in the native raw file, but after some small tweaking, they are visible. The future of photography is not the hands of the next fancy software. I believe it is actually in the hands of us going out, framing great photos, at solid exposures, then a tasteful clean up to make the image shine. This image didn't take 10 hours of creative editing to look good. In fact, it only took about 10 minutes. One of the neatest things for me was shooting this with my 93-year-old photographer grandpa by my side. I'll never forget that day or this photo.
