This intersection became known as "The Heaviest Corner on Earth" in the early twentieth century as four of the tallest buildings in the Southeastern United States (at the time) were constructed on it between 1902 and 1912. While I liked my original composition of the scene, I found the overall image to be a bit dull. For this reason I thought it would be a good candidate for a little Photoshop project. The final image is a composite, comprised of three main layers: the buildings, the clouds, and the stars. The stars were fully generated using Photoshop filters and I layered the original clouds over them using a layer mask. The buildings were then cut out using the Photoshop's pen tool and dropped on the topmost layer. Finally, I added two flares to light the street lamps using Photoshop filters.
