Okay, since some of the newest digital cameras feature HDR stacking (my camera does not have HDR), my before photo is really a merged image formed using Photoshop from 7 digital images each having a different exposure value.
But merging (whether done in a camera or by software) is only so good at teasing out the details captured in a digital image. Therefore, my after photo uses a stacking method that is done only after each image is processed to bring out fine details. After the processed images are stacked final tweaking enhancements are done to bring out further details.
So you may need to disqualify my entry, because it uses 7 images before and after in order to achieve the final result. However, I think considering that the newest digital cameras create composites on board to form a final image, what I have done here is within the spirit of your contest rules.
