Announcing the First Consumer OLED TVs from Sony

0Share

After years of R&D, Sony has finally released its line of consumer OLED TVs in the US. Details were scarce at the original announcement at CES, but we now know that the A1E-series, offered in 55 and 65" screen sizes, will not use traditional speaker drivers, instead employing Acoustic Surface technology, which features two pairs of actuators mounted on the back of the TV (attributing to its 3.5" depth) which vibrate the screen surface to produce sound. Additionally, the TV’s kickstand design, which extends from the back of the TV like the stand on a picture frame, sports a built-in woofer for additional bass effects. This new speaker implementation is designed to deliver an immersive audio experience while maintaining slim bezels around the display.

Sony A1E-Series 65"-Class HDR UHD Smart OLED TV

As you would expect of a prominent model TV from a brand as well-known as Sony, this new series will also have popular features such as smart TV functionality powered by Android TV OS, integrated Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity, UHD resolution with near-4K upscaling, HDR support, Chromecast built in, voice search, and more.
