CES 2017: Sony A1E OLED TV

4Share

AT CES, Sony recently announced its new A1E-series OLED TV, which features an HDR-compatible UHD panel with the Android TV OS built-in for smart TV functionality. Physically, the TV is designed with a virtually invisible stand and speaker; while I couldn’t pinpoint the speakers in the available images, the stand extends directly from the back of the TV, similar to a photo frame. The stand also offers cable management to help keep unruly cords nice and tidy. It features a slim bezel and, of course, can be wall-mounted.

Does anyone have dimensions yet, wthout stand? Our house flooded, a new A/V cab is being built, and I'm hoping to afford the 77-inch Sony AE1 OLED!

Hi Ray -

SONY has not published the dimensional specs for these new televisions yet.  Hopefully we will have them before the summer 2017 release.

It has been confirmed that the Sony OLED uses the LG panels.

Hi Robert -

True, but Sony''s X-1 Extreme processor is prorprietary and the imaging should be outstanding!
