New OLED TVs from maker LG were showcased at CES 2018, and with four new series in the works, there is quite a selection coming. The B8 series, available in 55 and 65", features LG’s new α7 processor and LG ThinQ AI. The α7 processor is designed to provide more lifelike images with enhanced depth, sharpness, and color accuracy, while LG ThinQ AI enables the TV to act as a central hub for all your connected devices, with intelligent voice control, the Google Assistant built in, and Amazon Echo compatibility. Intelligent voice control and the Google Assistant allow you to change the channel, hear the weather and sports scores, and control your connected smart home devices with just your voice; you can even tell the TV to “turn off after this program ends.” Among the TV’s more traditional specs are UHD resolution, 4K Cinema HDR, and Dolby Atmos compatibility.
The C8 series is available in 55, 65, and 77". Like the B8, the C8 features LG ThinQ AI, but upgrades to the α9 processor, purported to be more powerful than the α7; the C8 also has 4K Cinema HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. The E8, available in 55 and 65" models, also has the α9 processor and LG ThinQ AI, but features a glass design to enhance its aesthetics when it’s not in use.
Perhaps the most anticipated new LG OLED is the W8, the follow-up to the much-discussed W7. Like the W7, the W8 series, available in 65 and 77", features a wallpaper design, but upgrades to the α9 processor and adds LG ThinQ AI and 4K Cinema HDR.
