It's clear TP-Link isn't contented with simply being a networking powerhouse, because the company has steadily released a salvo of smart home products in recent years. Having already made a name for itself with its Kasa lineup of smart outlets, bulbs, and indoor cameras, TP-Link unveiled seven additions to its smart home family at CES 2019.
Its new Kasa Smart Video Doorbell sports a slim, modern design and features 2K high-definition video with HDR, which should greatly help with nighttime viewing. This is important—porch pirates never sleep and neither should your doorbell. It also features facial recognition and can alert you when familiar people arrive. Several video recording subscriptions are available, including a no-cost option that offers two-days of video history. You'll have to upgrade to enjoy facial recognition, but with that you'll get extended recording options starting at $4 per month for 14 days.
The Kasa Smart Wire-Free Outdoor Security Camera System was also unveiled. This camera and hub system is battery-powered and features 2-way audio and 1080p video recording with night vision capability. The hub is engineered to extend the battery life of the camera by managing its power consumption and adds a Siren to your system. Like competing outdoor camera systems, you can customize motion sensitivity to minimize false alarms. Just like the company's new Smart Video Doorbell, multiple subscription tiers are available to view recorded video.
Have you longed to control your light switch with your voice? Well, wait no more. While it's not clear which digital assistant is baked into TP-Link's new Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch, the fact that you'll soon be able to control your existing lights with your voice is cool. While this functionality isn't new, you can't also have a smart speaker in every room—well, that was before now. Did I mention that a motion sensor and night light are also on board? Just walk by, and the Kasa Smart Wi-Fi Light Switch can illuminate the way for you.
But that's not all. TP-Link also released a new Indoor smart camera, a smart Wi-Fi in-wall duplex outlet, a weather-resistant outdoor plug, and an extendable smart LED light strip. Inside and out, TP-Link wants to upgrade your home's intelligence with its growing catalog of smart home tech?
