Epson Has Two New 3LCD Home Cinema Projectors to Brighten Your Day

0Share

Offering 3300 lumens of color and white brightness, the new Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 660 and PowerLite Home Cinema 760 projectors will shine in nearly any home theater setting, even those with some ambient light. To complement this brightness, they have a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio to help accentuate detail in dark areas of the image. Their 1 to 1.35x zoom and 1.45 to 1.96:1 throw ratios afford a variety of placement options, in case there are mounting obstacles. Additionally, both also have keystone correction and corner adjustment options for further placement flexibility. Both models have HDMI, VGA, and composite video inputs, plus USB ports which, together, mean they can support nearly anything, including old school VCRs, cable boxes, USB thumb drives... even the latest streaming devices such as a Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV.

The 660 and 760 have many similarities, but differ in resolution; the 660 features SVGA 800 x 600 native resolution, which is well suited for images and video in the 4:3 aspect ratio, while the 760 offers WXGA 1280 x 800 native resolution for higher-quality video in the 16:10 aspect ratio, though both support nearly all aspect ratios, including 16:9, which is more traditionally associated with home theater content.
