Motorola Announces the G7 Family of Smartphones

0Share

Allow me to introduce Motorola's new smartphone family: the Moto G7 Series! With the three smartphones in this new lineup, Motorola hopes to have a G7 for everyone. You have the flagship Moto G7, the battery-efficient Moto G7 Power, and the smaller but still capable Moto G7 Play.

Starting with the flagship of the group, the Moto G7 packs 64GB of storage and delivers a large 6.2" 2270 x 1080 LTPS LCD screen with an ultrawide 19:9 aspect ratio. It's the only G7 model to sport the super-small, teardrop notch to maximize your screen real estate. When it comes to the cameras, the G7 sports a dual setup with a 12MP camera, 5MP depth sensor, large 1.25um pixels and a f/1.8 aperture. This combo is designed to deliver portraits with smooth bokeh and let a lot of light in for better low-light results. An 8MP front-facing camera sits inside the teardrop with a newly added screen flash feature, so even your selfies get some love in low-light situations.

The Moto G7 Power takes a dip in storage to 32GB but is still very like the Moto G7. The G7 Power features a large 6.2" 1570 x 720 LTPS LCD screen with 19:9 aspect ratio, a 12MP rear camera (no depth sensor on the G7 Power though), and an 8MP front camera. However, as the name hints at, the G7 Power delivers on battery life. With the largest battery of the bunch at 5000mAh, the G7 Power is designed to last you an amazing three days before needing a recharge. Now, that mileage may vary based on usage, but it's impressive, nonetheless.

For those of you who like your phones a bit more compact, Motorola has you covered with the Moto G7 Play. Its 5.7" HD+ display is smaller, but the 19:9 aspect ratio and edge-to-edge design is meant to make it not feel that way. You are not sacrificing all that much. The G7 Play has 32GB of storage, just like the G7 Power. The up to 40-hour 3000mAh battery is the same as that of the G7, and with a 13MP/8MP rear/front camera combo, the photo and video capabilities are on par with its siblings.

Being in the same family, it's no surprise that the Moto G7 lineup shares a lot of the same technological DNA. For example, while the G7 and G7 Power feature a glass back for a more premium feel, all three models sport scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display protection. They all also share P2i nano coating for inside-and-out water resistance.

I could easily go on, what with all G7 models sporting a snappy Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor, expandable microSD storage, support for Google Lens AI, and a bevy of Moto Actions, but I won't. It's safe to say that no matter which model you choose, you're sure to enjoy a feature-rich mobile experience for a long time to come. You can choose between the Moto G7, Moto G7 Power, or Moto G7 Play right now, at B&H.
