Propel Announces Star Wars Battle Drones

4Share

Fans of Star Wars, rejoice! Propel has announced three brand-new replicas of your favorite Star Wars flyers. These hobby-sized drone clones include a TIE Advanced X1, T-65 X-Wing Star Fighter, and 74-Z Speeder Bike. Each drone is hand-painted and detailed for an authentic look and feel, and each utilizes a specialized reverse propulsion system that allows them to fly just like they do in the movies.

More than mere collectibles, though, these Star Wars drones can max out at speeds of up to 35mph—not fast enough to make the Kessel run in twelve parsecs, but quick enough to deliver high-speed excitement and thrills. The drones can flip and stunt, and include more traditional features, like auto takeoff and landing. Additionally, each flyer offers multiple control and speed settings, including a training mode that shows novice pilots the ropes while protecting them from crashes and collisions.

True to the originals, these drones are also battle-ready. They utilize special awareness technology and an encoded laser system to clash with other flyers, allowing you to relive your favorite movie moments or engage in all-new aerial dogfights with up to 12 other pilots.

The battle drones come with everything you need to get into the air, including a Star Wars-themed controller, spare parts, and multiple flight batteries. Even better: the drones arrive in a collector’s display box that lets you show off your flyer in style. Each case features a light-up base and plays authentic music from the Star Wars movie soundtrack, making them the perfect display hangar for when you’re not in the air.

In addition to the new drones, Propel is also launching the “Chosen One” competition later this year. This global event will utilize Propel’s free companion app to pit pilots from all over the world against each other to determine who is the greatest dogfighter of them all. The winner will earn galactic bragging rights and is expected to take home a prize of $1 million!

This would be so cool! Only thing that would make it better would be to have a camera mounted to get photos.

I'm waiting for the actual Star Wars propulsion system (built in), not propellers!

This is really stupid.

And fun :)
