The Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos S7 edge: Two Smartphones with Alter Egos

Globetrotters rejoice! Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge smartphones are now available with space for two SIM cards in the form of the Galaxy S7 Duos and Galaxy S7 edge Duos. Thanks to the two SIM card slots, Duos owners can use not one, but two nano-SIM cards from the carriers of their choice. The S7 Duos and S7 edge Duos use Dual Sim Dual Standby (DSDS) technology, which enables you to receive calls and text messages from either SIM card without manually switching between the two. When placing outgoing calls, you’ll be prompted to select which SIM card you’d like to use. Both SIM cards can make use of 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE networks for wireless web surfing. These smartphones are international variants and support a wide variety of wireless bands used in North America and around the world, but you’ll want to make sure that they will function with your selected carriers first, with this chart.

Aside from the twin-SIM action, the S7 Duos is unchanged from the Galaxy S7 you know and love. It’s got a 5.1" QHD AMOLED display covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5, dual quad-core processors with 4GB of RAM, and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The 12MP rear-facing camera has a large f/1.7 aperture and can shoot 4K video at 30 fps, while the front-facing camera has a 5MP sensor. The 32GB of storage comes standard, and when you’re not using the second SIM slot, storage can be expanded by up to 200GB with the use of a microSD card. The whole thing is wrapped up in a sleek body with an IP68 rating for water-resistance and dust proofing.

Similarly, the S7 edge Duos ports over the same features and powerful performance that have made the original S7 edge such a favorite. It showcases the signature dual-edge 5.5" Super AMOLED display with QHD resolution. Dual quad-core processors with 4GB of RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating are also on board. The S7 edge Duos houses the same powerful camera array: a 12MP rear-facing camera and a front-facing 5MP sensor. Like the S7 Duos, 32GB of storage come standard, and when you’re not using the second SIM slot, storage can be expanded by up to 200GB with the use of a microSD card.
