The latest update of Epson’s well-respected line of 13 x 19” desktop printers is the Stylus Photo R3000. Unlike most product upgrades, which are often a combination of cosmetics and feature tweaks, the Stylus Photo R3000 was engineered to reflect the feedback and requests of long-term Epson users.
Most notable is how many of the improvements found on the Stylus Photo R3000 are borrowed from Epson’s Stylus Pro-series printers. Among these upgrades are sturdier construction, higher-capacity (25.9ml) ink cartridges, which is about 3x the capacity of the cartridges found in Epson’s earlier desktop printers, a new 1”, 8-channel MicroPiezo AMC (Advanced Meniscus Control) print head (180 nozzles), and advanced media handling (front-in, front-out) for heavier fine-art media.
Other features found on the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 include Epson’s UltraChrome K3 with Vivid Magenta ink technology (PK, MK, LK, LLK, C, LC, M, LM, Y) that enable accurate, wide-gamut color and monotone printing, and auto-switching between Matte and Photo Black cartridges, which eliminates the need to manually swap PK and MK ink cartridges when switching between glossy and matte print media. The Stylus Photo R3000 also features USB 2.0, Ethernet and High-Speed Wireless (802.11n) connectivity, and a new a color LCD control panel.
We expect delivery of the Epson Stylus Photo R3000 sometime in March, 2011.
