Blue has a reputation for making quality microphones with visually striking designs, and the freshly announced Tiki USB Microphone is no exception. The Tiki is less than 3" long, and it connects directly to the USB port of your Mac or PC—perfect for bloggers, journalists, musicians and constant travelers. The mic even comes with an extended docking cable and a carrying case for versatility and convenience.
Blue touts the Tiki as the world’s first USB microphone that mimics the intelligence of human hearing. Basically, the mic focuses on desired sounds, minimizes background noise and knows when it should mute itself completely to eliminate fan and typing noise. The Tiki has two selectable operating modes to offer the best results for different applications. The “Intelligent Speech Mode” brings your voice to the forefront of a call or chat, while noise-canceling technology minimizes the competing background noise to make sure you’re heard properly. This is ideal for applications such as Skype and iChat. The “Natural Recording Mode” is designed to capture a variety of sound sources ranging from vocals to acoustic guitar, offering high-end clarity and fidelity for singers, musicians and more.
The Tiki achieves its intelligence by using two condenser microphone capsules with advanced DSP processing. The mic delivers CD-quality audio at 16-bit/44.1kHz resolution, which is great for podcasts or music. A multi-colored LED indicator is built into the mic, giving you visual cues for muting status and more. With its compact size and high-quality audio, the Tiki is a wonderful option anywhere you go.
