DxO Labs has announced an update of its Optics Pro image processing software, DxO Optics Pro 7. According to the nice folks at DxO, the latest Optics Pro update includes improvements in a number of areas including lens sharpening (a new Lens Softness tool automatically compensates for lens softness while preserving the attributes of out-of-focus background areas, i.e. bokeh), and a new Sharpness Mask tool that allows you to maintain even sharpening effects across the entire image including corners, which tend, in general, to be softer.
Other improvements include improved detail in saturated portions of the image field, faster image processing times (about 4x faster than DxO Optics Pro 6), and a streamlined interface and workflow sequence. DxO Optics Pro 7 is available for Mac and Windows, and will be in stock in the very near future. Stay focused.
