The Canon PowerShot S100 is an advanced compact camera that features a large-for-its-class CMOS sensor and an impressive 12.1-megapixel count. Powered by the DIGIC 5 image processor, this camera is capable of performing quickly while producing tremendous results.
This performance, coupled with Canon’s HS SYSTEM, helps the S100 achieve notable low-light sensitivity up to ISO 6400, advanced noise reduction and a quickened burst rate of 9.6 fps for up to 8 full-resolution shots. Full HD 1080p video with stereo sound is supported and can be output via HDMI to watch on your HDTV. The 5x optical zoom lens features a wide maximum aperture of f/2 for depth-of-field control, and an intelligent image stabilization system helps to reduce camera shake, even at full zoom. This camera supports manual operation or can make use of the Smart Auto mode to have the camera automatically decide the exposure settings for you. For traveling purposes, the S100 features a built-in GPS module that automatically embeds location data into your image files, which can then be accessed and plotted to maps from your computer.
