The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH3 is a mirrorless digital camera with a Micro Four Thirds lens mount and several professional video options. Following on the heels of the mega-popular-for-video GH2, the GH3 carries several improvements, especially 1080p video recording at 60 frames per second. Plus, there's an all-intraframe codec for higher quality, remote recording-start via Wi-Fi, an external mic jack and a headphone jack for monitoring audio.
In this video, Mia McCormick, of Kelby Media, takes a close look at the Panasonic DMC-GH3's video-recording function and explores some of the most enticing lens options for digital cinematography. With its Micro Four Thirds sensor, the camera has a 2x crop factor when using lenses designed for full-frame cameras, which is an option if you use the right adapter. (There are several options that work with the GH3.)
