The results of the first-ever 2017 B&H Before & After Photo Editing Contest are in, and the grand-prize winner is photographer Robert Work, whose image was chosen from more than 1,000 entries.

A panel of judges agreed that Work's landscape submission, entitled Desert Rain, was compelling and featured expert photography and use of editing software. Click here to view the submission. The submission's original "before" photo was taken during a trip to the United Arab Emirates and was later edited using Adobe software. "I initially went to these dunes hoping for some nice golden light to highlight the ripples of the sand," Work said. "It started raining on the way, and I almost turned around thinking I wouldn't get anything good. I was so glad that I kept going, because the desert during a storm has a whole different beauty to it."
