Canon Offers Special 13-Month Accidental Insurance Complimentary Promotion

10Share

For all of the accident-prone shooters and those who treat their gear with less than kid gloves and really, for everyone, Canon is offering complimentary CarePAK PLUS protection coverage for select gear purchases from authorized dealers. The offer runs from October 30, 2016 to December 31, 2016, and with your purchase, you will receive 13 months of damage protection and priority service from Canon. The CarePAK PLUS benefits include protection from accidental damage such as drops, spills, and power surges, additional hardware coverage from excessive wear and tear, priority servicing, free return shipping, a $0 deductible for any repair or replacement, and the No Lemon Guarantee, which promises that if your product needs to be repaired three times for the same problem, you will receive a new product.

For Canon customers, first, you need to register your product from a Canon Authorized Dealer (like B&H Photo Video!) within 30 days of purchase, here. And then you can join the CarePAK PLUS program.

Be sure to keep your proof-of-purchase information on your Canon product. For more details on the CarePAK PLUS promotion, please visit this link.

Hi Chris -

The program is valid on purchases made between October 30, 2016 and December 31, 2016.  Purchases made after 12/31/16 are not eligible.  >MarK<

We just bought my granddaughter a T5i kit as a starter for what looks like a promising interest.  Although she might be likely to need some protection for an accidental problem, NONE of her Canon products are included!

Hi Bertram -

I am sorry that your purchase is not included in Canon's promotion.  Canon extended this program to products that they consider professional grade.  You might want to contact Canon directly to voice your displeasure.

Nice, except all of my purchases (5dMkIII, 85mm 1.18, 24-70 2.8, 100mm 2.8 macro) have all been prior to this 30 day cutoff.  I wish B&H or Canon could recognize people like myself, who have purchased nothing but Canon products for the last 20 years.

Quando estive em N.Y. fui à sua loja e adorei! fiquei entusiasmado com tanta diversidadde de produtos. Parabéns!

When I was in N.Y. I went to his shop and loved it! I was thrilled with so many products and varied. Congratulations!

Amauri ... please come back anytime. Thanks for your comment.

This is all well and good, but it's a gimmick to get new trade. What about us loyal customers who come back year after year? We don't all have a large budget, yet still we save and buy the best we can. Often not having enough left to afford extended warranties or insurance.

Thanks for the comment Neil.

Which manufactuer is not guilty of trying to get new trade?  The term gimmick generally refers to marketing schemes "...often with little intrinsic value".  I'd say for anyone who does drop their lens or camera, this is completely the opposite.  I would think it won't cost Canon too much as people are unlikely to break a perfectly working lens on purpose, but for those few unfortunate souls who come a cropper, this will probably make them Canon fans for life.  Even CPS members who beat on their gear will probably be tripping over themselves to take advantage.  I'd say you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.
