CES 2015: Hands on the Davis & Sanford Traverse Carbon Fiber Tripod

23Share

The popular Davis & Sanford ultra-compact tripod, with legs that swivel back 180 degrees for more compact storage, has had a few iterations in aluminum but it’s now available in carbon fiber, making it even lighter, stronger, and easier to handle. Designed to accommodate DSLR, mirrorless, and point-and-shoot cameras, this four-section tripod folds to 18.5" for optimal storage and transport, has twist-lock legs with three independent leg-angle positions, foam-grip-insulated legs, an Easy Glide center column with separate short center post for ground-level shooting, and rubber-to-spike feet for indoor or outdoor shooting.

The Traverse has a maximum height of 65" and a minimum shooting height of 9". A center column ballast hook is present for hanging equipment or adding weight to increase stability. Its total weight, complete with ball head, is 3.25 pounds, and it has an impressive load capacity of 15 pounds, sufficient to support a pro DSLR with a long lens.

Unfortuately, as the Davis & Sanford Traverse Carbon Fiber Tripod has just recently been announced, at this time, we do not have pricing or an estimated arrival date from Davis & Sanford for the Traverse Carbon Fiber Tripod.  However, if you enter your name and your e-mail address in the boxes listed above at the end of the article (under the bold text stating "Please fill in the form below to be notified when this product becomes available at B&H,") we would then update you via e-mail both when the tripod is available, as well as including the pricing for the Davis & Sanford Traverse Carbon Fiber Tripod.
