Leica has announced the release of the Leica M10-P Safari Edition Camera and the accompanying Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 Safari Edition Lens. Finished in a special olive-green baked enamel paint with white enamel engravings and sold separately, this edition will be limited to a run of 1,500 cameras and 500 lenses.

With a nod to the original olive-green Leica M1 cameras built for the military, in 1960, previous Safari Editions have included olive green Leica M3s, M4s, R3s, M6 TTLs, M8.2s, and an M-P Typ 240, as well as Leica binoculars.

Features found on the Leica M10-P Safari Edition include machined-brass body components, weatherproof construction, a 24MP full-frame CMOS sensor, a 3", 1.04m-Dot touchscreen LCD, ISO 50,000, and up to 5 frames-per-second continuous shooting.

The Leica Summicron-M 50mm f/2 Safari Edition Lens represents the first time Leica is releasing a lens painted olive-green to match Safari Edition cameras.
