Sigma has added compatibility with FUJIFILM X-Mount cameras to its compact and versatile 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary Lens. The fixed aperture zoom has an equivalent range of 27-75mm on APS-C cameras, making it an incredibly flexible lens well suited for travel, landscape, event, and even portrait photography. As the smallest and lightest f/2.8 standard zoom for APS-C cameras to date, it is a perfect companion for everyday carry.

The new addition to the Contemporary line uses a stepping motor optimized for efficient communication with X-Mount cameras for fast and accurate AF, including Continuous AF. Optically, it leans on three aspherical elements to produce sharp images while keeping weight down. Compatibility with in-camera aberration correction rounds out its optical rendering.

The 18-50mm features a constant 7-bladed f/2.8 aperture that performs well even in low-light environments and keeps out-of-focus areas smooth and natural in appearance when opened up. It has a minimum focusing distance of 4.76 inches and maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.8. When shooting on its wide end, you can get as close as 1.06 inches to your subject for creative effect. It takes a 55mm filter and comes with a petal-type hood to minimize ghosting and flare.
