The sleek and unique Sigma dp2 Quattro compact digital camera was initially announced in February of this year. News of its pricing and availability just arrived today. If you're looking to get your hands on this camera, with its three-layered Foveon X3 Quattro Direct Image Sensor, it will be available in early August for $999.00. The dp2 will feature a fixed 30mm f/2.8 lens, which is equivalent to a 45mm lens on a full-frame camera. Two more dp Quattro series cameras are expected in the future: the dp1 will feature a 19mm f/2.8 lens (28mm equivalent) and the dp3 will be outfitted with a 50mm f/2.8 (75mm equivalent).
