LITRA is a relatively new name in the lighting world, a company that is looking to make a big splash with the LitraTorch Adventure Light. An exceptionally tiny LED light, about the size of a GoPro Session, this fixture wants to be the perfect companion to your action camera or smartphone. We went hands-on at WPPI and saw just how great these lights are in person.
With high quality, marked by a wide 80-degree beam angle and a blending of the LEDs for a smooth, hot-spot-free light, the LitraTorch will satisfy many videographers who need a tough fixture. The 5700K LEDs also have a maximum output of 800 lumens with a continuous output of up to 2200 lumens when set to strobe mode. This variety of settings gives it added versatility, since it can quickly switch from an on-camera light to a bike strobe in mere moments. We haven’t even touched upon the rugged build of the LitraTorch—it boasts waterproofing to 30' and a solid metal housing.
Controlling the LitraTorch is incredibly simple, with a single large button allowing shooters to cycle through three power levels, from 100-800 lumens and the strobe setting. It can be mounted in a variety of configurations, with a 1/4"-20 thread on the rear and bottom, as well as a magnet on the back for an additional option. LITRA makes various accessories for other uses, including a smartphone mount, a ball head with shoe mount, and more. The LitraTorch runs on a rechargeable Li-ion battery that will keep it powered for four hours in continuous or seven hours in strobe modes.
