Real Exposures: Interview with Philip Bloom

Philip Bloom was an early adopter of HDSLR video functionality, and using the Canon 5D Mark II, has done much to advance the art and science of this relatively new way of filmmaking. His fortuitous invitation to Skywalker Ranch, the home of George Lucas, proved beyond a doubt the viability of the nascent technology.

In this half-hour interview, Bloom shares his memories of that trip and his subsequent involvement on the set of the major motion picture, Red Tails. He discusses his love of time-lapse photography and the pull of his many interests, including his highly informative blog, his teaching activities and seminars, and the pure joy of his freelance work as a DP.
