The latest trend towards capturing video using HDSLR cameras produces unquestionably good images. The same cannot be said of the camera’s audio capture capabilities, although with the latest offerings from Canon and Nikon, that situation is improving. Two lightweight preamps with three microphone inputs each can be mounted on-camera, with the Riggy Micro designed for cameras that have built-in audio control and monitoring, while the Riggy Assist includes those functions for cameras that don’t.
