NAMM 2015: Hotone Xtomp, an Effects Modeling Guitar Stompbox

0Share

Guitar effects manufacturer Hotone has just announced the Xtomp, an effects modeling guitar stompbox that works in tandem with a proprietary iOS app to manage all your presets, and transfer them directly to the pedal wirelessly by Bluetooth. The pedal simulates many classic vintage and modern pedals, featuring an effects library of more than 300 models.

The Xtomp uses Comprehensive Dynamic Circuit Modeling, which processes incoming guitar signal dynamically, unlike other modeling systems that use the same modeling circuit regardless of the signal. In other words, as Xtomp is operating, the effect models at work in it are constantly changing rather than remaining fixed, designed to closely achieve the characteristics of analog circuitry.

Physically, the Xtomp is fitted with a thin zinc-alloy case, a silver sand-blasted finish, streamlined edges, multicolor LED halo-surrounded metal knobs, and a wide brass-alloy kick switch with LED halo. It also features mono and stereo operation, making it usable for keyboard players, as well as guitarists and bassists.
