M-Audio has announced its next-generation audio interface, and it comes in the form of the Thunderbolt-compatible desktop Deltabolt 1212. Designed from the ground up to work with Thunderbolt technology, the interface boasts some impressive specs, including 12 channels of full duplex I/O (including mic pre inputs and 8 channels of line-level inputs on a DB-25 connector). On its conversion front, its DAC supports full 32-bit/192 kHz. Additionally, it features a large monitor control knob, giving you hands-on adjustability of your main monitor or headphone level, eliminating the need for a separate monitor-control unit. M-Audio has also developed an iOS remote control for its software panel, giving you control over each submix.
Also announced at NAMM are two new models of monitoring headphones, the M40 and M50. Designed to provide high levels of acoustic isolation, they are geared toward both critical listening and DJ scenarios. The M50s sport an over-ear design and rock 50mm drivers, while the M40s cater to the on-ear crowd and provide playback via their 40mm drivers.
