NAMM 2015: Novation Launches the New Launchpad Pro

0Share

Novation is expanding its popular line of Launchpad controllers for Ableton Live and other programs with the new Launchpad Pro.

The Pro features 64 RGB LED feedback and velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads with 32 RGB backlit round mode buttons to enable expressive performances and inventive song creation. In Performance Mode, the pads illuminate to match the color of your clips in Ableton Live’s session views for 1:1 visual feedback.

When set to Note Mode, the grid of pads will automatically switch for either drum or instrument devices with a chromatic keyboard for instrument devices that lets you play notes, melodies, and chords easily.

To speed up workflow, an array of buttons on the bottom of the device allows you to access mixer controls, such as record arm, track select, mute, solo, volume, pan, sends, and stop clip, without having to switch into a dedicated mixer mode.

You can also use the controller to adjust effect parameters and transitions with eight velocity-sensitive vertical faders with LED feedback that adjust the transition according to the speed with which you hit the pad.

The unit is not limited to Ableton live. As a universal MIDI controller, you can use it with your DAW of choice with MIDI customization and MIDI I/O to external devices. The controller is USB bus powered and roadworthy, for your next gig.
