RØDE Unveils the NT-USB Studio Condenser Microphone

8Share

Expanding its lineup of USB microphones, RØDE has recently announced the NT-USB Studio USB Microphone. Unlike its broadcast-minded cousin, the Podcaster (RØDE’s other USB mic), the NT-USB is geared more toward studio use, though is certainly not limited to it. The mic features side-address configuration, and its integrated analog-to-digital converter lets you capture your audio in resolutions up to 16-bit/48kHz, while an integrated headphone amplifier with 1/8" stereo connector gives you onboard zero-latency monitoring.

The microphone itself is a sleek design, something which can almost be expected from RØDE at this time. Sporting only two knobs, the NT-USB gives you what RØDE calls Direct Mix Control, allowing you to select between the mic input, the source input, or a blend of the two. The mic’s second knob is a simple level control for the headphone playback.

RØDE has made sure the NT-USB is compatible with the iPad, in addition to Mac and PC computers, although you will need a Lightning Cable Adapter to get it running with your iPad. To get you started out of the box, RØDE includes pretty much everything you’ll need, including a pop shield, a tripod desk stand, a ring mount, 20-foot long USB cable, and storage pouch.
