Build your Ableton Live workflow around Akai with a new performance controller, keyboard, and sample recorder-player. The APC40 MKII improves upon the world-renowned original with USB bus-power operation, a 5 x 8 RGB LED color code-able clip-launching matrix, nine reinforced faders, a refined layout of the eight device control knobs, and an A/B crossfader that can be reassigned on the fly. The controller includes a copy of Ableton Live Lite with Puremagnetik Effect Racks, Hybrid 3 by AIR Music Tech, SONiVOX Twist, Prime Loops Sample Packs, and Toolroom Records artist launch packs.
The MPK Mini mkII also builds upon the success of the original compact keyboard and pad controller with 25 velocity-sensitive keys, dedicated octave buttons, eight backlit velocity-sensitive MPC-style pads in two banks, eight assignable Q-Link Knobs, and a four-way thumb stick for pitch and modulation control . An onboard arpeggiator with an adjustable resolution, range, and different modes further expands the keyboard’s versatility. MPC Note Repeat and Full Level controls leverage the power of Akai’s MPC platform. The keyboard comes with a set of virtual instruments including Hybrid 3 by AIR music, SONiVOX Wobble, and MPC Essentials for making beats with or without a DAW.
The new MPX16 can be powered by your computer’s USB port to play and record .WAV file samples on SD cards in both live performance and studio production environments. Samples can be played by 16 MPC style pads in two rows of eight or through the device’s MIDI I/O. The pads can also be used to launch clips and function as triggers. New samples can be recorded to the device via dual ¼" inputs or with onboard stereo microphone, and then saved to an SD card and dragged and dropped into a Mac or PC. The samples can be manipulated with different tunings, filters, envelopes, and choke groupings for more elaborate performances and productions.
