Elvid RigVision and FieldVision On-Camera Monitors

New at B&H, Elvid presents a pair of entry-level, on-camera monitors. Elvid’s FieldVision and RigVision monitors both feature a 7-inch display; however, the slightly more advanced RigVision model offers more resolution, a flip-up sun shield, and a rather unique shutter-release feature. Both models include a hot/cold shoe adapter with an adjustable ball head for mounting the monitor on a camera or camera support system.

Elvid RigVision CM-7L

The RigVision model features a TFT LCD with 1024 x 600 resolution and supports viewing angles of 160 degrees. The input connections include composite RCA and HDMI, which enable the monitor to accept a video signal with up to 1920 x 1080 resolution. There is also an HDMI loop-through output and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A convenient cable clamp on the back of the panel helps to prevent the HDMI cable from accidentally disconnecting.

The RigVision model includes seven distinct shutter-release cables, which enable a remote shutter release feature when used with a wide variety of cameras (please refer to the specifications below for a comprehensive list). When using the monitor and one of the included cables with a compatible camera, the shutter-release button on the front of the monitor will actuate the camera’s autofocus (a half press of the button) or snap a photo (a full press of the button). A second button, the Bulb Exposure Button, will open the shutter, and holding the Bulb Exposure Button will keep the shutter open until the button is released. Finally, a third button, the AF button, activates the camera’s autofocus. This monitor also features a built-in speaker.

The RigVision monitor is compatible with a variety of popular Sony camcorder batteries (please refer to the specifications below for a complete list) and includes an NP-F750 battery. The included flip-up sun shield helps to prevent glare and can be folded down to protect the screen during transport or storage. A right-angle (type A) HDMI cable, IR remote control, battery charger, AC power adapter and neoprene case are also included.

Elvid FieldVision 7"

The Elvid FieldVision monitor features a 7-inch LCD with 800 x 480 resolution, 500:1 contrast ratio, and brightness rated at 250 cd/m2. The input connections include HDMI, VGA, and an A/V input jack. The FieldVision monitor features a battery-adapter plate that is easily swapped out, so the monitor can be powered by a wide range of third-party batteries, including Sony L & M Series-compatible batteries, Nikon EN-EL3e-compatible batteries, Canon BP-511A-compatible batteries, and Canon LP-E6-compatible batteries. The monitor includes your choice of any one of these types of batteries, battery charger and battery-adapter plate. Additional battery-adapter plates for the other types of batteries are available as separate items.

The FieldVision monitor has a range of adjustable features. Volume, brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, and color temperature can be calibrated via simple menu adjustments. Users can also select either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios and adjust the horizontal and vertical positioning of the displayed image. The FieldVision monitor also features a horizontal and vertical image flip function, which allows users to display an upside-down and/or mirrored image.

I was wondering if the unit, Elvid RigVision CM-7L, will show distortion or delay when using Film-Video captures for the Canon Mark II 5D?

I would greatly appreciate if you could please send my any links or information regarding this question.

Thank you
