Teradek Bolt: Wireless 1080/60p Transmitters and Receivers

The Teradek Bolt is a wireless transmitting system for HD video signals and its primary utility lies in configuring a convenient and efficient, on-set monitoring scheme, such as a video village. As many of you may know, the term “video village” derives from a common phenomenon on film sets, which is precipitated by a monitor’s ability to attract a sizable population of curious onlookers. This is where the Bolt comes in. Teradek’s Bolt can wirelessly transmit a 4:2:2, 1080/60p video signal up to 300 feet with no frame delay, which means that all of the noises and distractions inherent to a video village can be located a suitable distance from the action.

Bolt transmitters come in “unicast” and “multicast” varieties. The Bolt Pro is the multicast model, and it enables users to transmit to multiple receivers simultaneously, with secure AES 128 encryption. The Bolt Pro also features 3G-SDI connectivity with loop-through and an internal, rechargeable Li-ion battery with enough capacity for approximately 60 minutes of run time. Both the Bolt Pro and the Bolt (unicast) feature a 6-28 volt LEMO DC input for connecting an external power source.

Bolt transmitters are enclosed in a milled aluminum housing, and the Bolt receiver is housed in ABS plastic. In addition, a number of 1/4”-20 threaded holes provide several mounting points for attaching the transmitter or receiver to a support system. Despite its robust construction, the Bolt transmitter weights only 7 oz.

The Bolt receiver features dual 3G/HD/SD-SDI outputs for either a two-monitor configuration or one monitor plus a Teradek Cube or Brik. Compatibility with Brik and Cube encoders allows the Bolt to stream to an iOS device or a content-delivery network of your choice via HLS, ZiXi, RTMP, RTP, RTSP and MPEG-TS transport protocols. WSDI Pro technology enables the Bolt system to adjust frequency bands in real time, which allows the system to coexist with Wi-Fi and 5 GHz cordless phones.

In addition to the single transmitter and receiver pair, B&H also sells the Teradek Bolt Pro bundled with two receivers TX+2RX. For more information please stop by the B&H NYC SuperStore, contact our sales professionals over the phone at 1-800-606-6969 or via Live Chat.

Living in Denmark, connected to a cable TV/Yousee and want to distribute signal throughout my house - want to have done it wirelessly. Preferably I want to be capable of adding other HDMI deviceses to it - also...

Is that possible with your products ?

The Teradek is more suited towards live video production. It is not condusive to home use.

Please email for recommednations on similar products for the home.
