Atomos Shogun Inferno Updates Software to 8.11

Further extending the functionality of its current top-of-the-line Shogun Inferno, Atomos has announced a firmware update. In addition to improving the overall stability and reliability, new features introduced in this update are as follows:

  • Support for 10-bit output recording from the Panasonic GH5 and Fujifilm XT2
  • Support for Sony PlayStation 4 Pro 4K 60p HDR for high-quality game recording
  • Smooth monitoring of video frame rates with switchable 48/50/60 Hz refresh rates
  • BT.2020 color space monitoring for Sony S-Log signals using the AtomHDR mode

The addition of these features makes the Shogun Inferno not only more powerful, but allows it entrance into a market not often leveraged by Pro-Video recorders, the gaming content market.

It’s exciting to see Atomos add features to its hardware via firmware updates, so if you want to take advantage of the latest firmware, or view other technical information about the Shogun Inferno, visit the Atomos firmware page, at
