CES 2018: What is the SMALL HD 703 Bolt 3000-NIT Monitor?

0Share

Happening at CES 2018, the Pro Video Department at B&H Photo is happy to bring you news of the SmallHD 703 Bolt monitor. Combining the design wizardry of Small HD with the technical prowess of Teradek, the 703 Bolt is a 7" daylight-viewable monitor with a built-in 300' Teradek Sidekick receiver, suitable for professional applications. It is available as a stand-alone monitor or as a Director's Monitor kit with Gold mount or V-mount battery plates. The monitor features a 7", 1920 x 1080 display panel with 3000-NIT brightness and incorporates two SDI inputs and one SDI output.

This built-in receiver has a range of 300' and is compatible with Bolt 500, 1000, and 3000 transmitters. The 703 Bolt monitor draws only 16W with the wireless on, and features an 8-bit panel, while otherwise sharing similar functionality with the SmallHD 703U monitor, yet with the built-in receiver, it is only 1/8 of an inch thicker than the 703U. The weight savings found by combining the Teradek receiver and the monitor itself makes this a strong candidate for DITs or other departments, and with the kits that include a neck strap, accessory handles, and a battery plate, they become compelling choices as Director's Monitors.
