Just in time for NAB 2019, MOZA has announced the AirCross 2 3-Axis Handheld Gimbal. Designed with a larger mounting space and greater compatibility options than its predecessor, the new AirCross supports most mirrorless cameras and DSLRs, including large models with vertical grips and wide-body types like the Blackmagic Pocket 4K.
The AirCross 2 is all about ease of use and setup—thanks in part to its innovative design. For starters, it uses a 3-latch locking system that securely locks your camera in place and preserves balance even when you’re on the go. No more rebalancing between shots. You can quickly switch between portrait and landscape, thanks to a dedicated bracket, and both the batteries and memory card can be replaced without disturbing the camera, saving you time in the process.
Beyond its innovative structure, the AirCross 2 facilitates ease of use through a number shooter-friendly modes and features. Its all-inclusive control panel gives you ownership of every function and movement, while the intuitive OLED display provides gimbal status and lists camera parameters. To assist setting those parameters, the AirCross 2 works with the MOZA app to calculate and set the optimal parameters automatically, based on the gimbal and payload—no more readjusting. Both the all-inclusive control and automatic app support make using AirCross 2’s advanced shooting modes a breeze. Use built-in time lapse, Inception, Sport Gear, and various follow modes to capture creative shots and shoot the perfect scene.
The new AirCross’s battery size has been bumped up from the original. It’s now a 3000mAh unit that delivers up to 12 hours of life and can be fully recharged in 1.5 hours using an 18W fast charger. The battery has its own dedicated USB fast charging interface, as well as three multi-CAN ports that can supply up to 7.8V of power to the follow focus and compatible camera. However, even with its powerful battery installed, the AirCross 2 weighs a super lightweight 2 lb, making it one of lightest gimbal stabilizers of its kind available today.
