Video accessory maker SmallRig has just released a trio of compact V-mount batteries, a Flexible Vlog Tripod Kit, including one with wireless control, a wireless microphone, wireless control handgrips for DJI RS Series gimbals, video accessories for the brand-new Nikon Z30 camera, and some miscellaneous video accessories.
The Flexible Vlog Tripod Kit comes in three variations and is based on a Red Dot Design Award-winning intelligent robot featuring rounded corners on the legs and heads for a more user-friendly experience. The flexible legs (with 150% more flex than competitors) allow for wrapping around rods larger than 1", and it can be used as a selfie stick, tabletop tripod, or smart device stand with a load capacity of 4.4 lb.
The VT-09 model comes with a single cold-shoe mount and 1/4"-20 threaded hole at the top. The VK-19 has dual cold-shoe mounts—one on the tripod and one on the smartphone holder and the 1/4"-20 hole on the smartphone holder. The VK-29 features the dual cold-shoe system and adds a portable wireless remote control for shutter release with a 33' operating range supported by iOS and Android systems.
The paint isn’t even dry on the new Nikon Z30 and SmallRig already has a quick-release baseplate and cage for the camera, plus a shoe-mounted fuzzy wind muff for the built-in microphones on the Z30. The baseplate is Arca-type compatible for quick mounting with quick-release heads and the cage features ARRI 3/8"-16 locating holes as well as the Arca-type dovetail.
The SmallRig VB50, VB99, and VB155 rechargeable V-mount batteries are about 70% the size of a normal V-mount battery, making them more portable. The VB50 delivers 45W of power and the VB99 and VB155 bring 65W each. Taking in power from a USB-C connector, an integrated BMS chip supports a wide array of fast charging protocols as well as adaptive voltage boost/adaptive current regulation. An integrated OLED display allows users to track the battery status while in use or charging. The VB155 has a larger capacity that its 65W sibling, the VB99, with a discharge of 155W vs. 99W. Full specs are available on the product pages. The batteries measure 4.1 x 2.9" with varying thicknesses and weights for each model: 1.4" and 11.6 oz (VB50), 2.1" and 19.4 oz (VB99), and 2.8" and 2.5 oz (VB155).
The new SmallRig Forevala W60 Wireless Microphone is a 2.4G wireless microphone with low-latency audio transmission featuring DSP for noise and sound processing to support smartphones, cameras, stabilizers, action cameras, computers, recorders, video cameras, recording pens, tablets. It will run 8 hours on a single charge with a maximum signal range of 33'.
SmallRig has also released a set of control options for DJI RS Series gimbals that includes the Wireless Control Sling Handgrip for the DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro, DJI RS Series Gimbals, Control Handgrip for DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro, Sling Handgrip for DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro, Wireless Control Handheld Ring for DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro, and Wireless Control Dual Handgrip for DJI RS 2 and RS 3 Pro. These add-on accessories support video/photo, joystick control, mode switch, centering/locking, and sleep mode. The handgrips have a 100-meter range, <50ms delay, and 10-hour battery life.

The power supply base allows the DJI RS 2/RS 3/RS 3 Pro to work with different equipment in more shooting scenarios, such as automobile, handheld ring, and jib shooting while ensuring shooting stability in a wide range of motion. Equipped with two power ports that can power the camera or Wi-Fi image transmitter, it also has NATO ports on each side. For compatibility, it supports DJI’s original car-shooting suction mount, stabilizer tripod, and a Manfrotto quick-release plate.
The RM120 Long-Battery-Life RGB Video Light features a “Juicy Bank” battery that lasts up to 180 minutes on a full charge at maximum brightness. The 5000mAh battery can provide full-power light while being charged and is designed for portability and ruggedness. A dozen lighting effects can pulse through the 120 LED elements for support of various filming needs.
The handheld cage for the RED V-RAPTOR features a modular design, allowing independent use of the top or bottom plate, a detachable NATO top plate that can work with a top handle, and a 15mm rod for monitor support. There are 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded holes plus ARRI 3/8"-16 locating holes, NATO rails, cold-shoe mounts, ARRI rosettes, and 15mm rod clamps.
