Enjoy the benefits of large-sensor, Full HD 1080p recording with the convenience and usability of an on-shoulder-form factor. The NEX-EA50M is the follow-up to the Sony NEX-EA50UH, adding an updated APS-C sized Exmor sensor and replaceing the 18-200mm lens with an 18-105mm f/4 constant-aperture Servo Zoom G lens. The new lens lets you enjoy quiet and continuous focus, zoom, and iris operation, while also providing Optical SteadyShot image stabilization for smoother shoulder-mounted footage.
In addition to the included 18-105mm servo zoom, the camcorder can also take advantage of a wide range of Sony E-mount lenses, as well as virtually any SLR, DSLR, or cine lens through the addition of optional third-party adapters. The APS-C sized sensor supports 1080p AVCHD video capture at 24, 25, 30, 50, and 60 fps, as well as still images up to 16.1 megapixels. Media is recorded to SD/SDHC/SDXC or Memory Stick PRO Duo memory cards, with support for MS-PX “Mirroring Memory Stick” cards for simultaneously recording two separate files to a single card with built-in error correction.
For use with professional microphones, the camcorder has two XLR inputs, with an ECM-XM1 shotgun microphone included. Additional features include a 3.5" touchscreen LCD, hot shoe, LANC remote control port, and built-in GPS location tagging.
