Teradek and the State of Wireless Video Production

3Share

Teradek advances the state of wireless video production once again, and we are very happy to share the news with you about the new Teradek Bolt 4K LT MAX Wireless 4K HDR Video System. Yes, that is correct: wireless 4K 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR video, with a line-of-sight range of 3,000' (5,000' with the dedicated panel antenna). Consisting of a transmitter and receiver with both HDMI and SDI connectors, the Bolt 4K LT MAX system supports up to 4K30 via HDMI and 1080p60 via SDI, allowing you to multicast up to six receivers, while it is 17% lighter than the Bolt 3000 system. The 4K LT Max system is fully compatible with previous Bolt 4K devices, so you can incrementally upgrade as you need to.

Key features of the new 4K LT MAX are less than 1/1000 of a second delay, a smaller form factor, and lighter weight than previous systems, yet it is still just as rugged and durable. It supports HDR-10, PQ, and HJG standards, as well as transmitting extended camera metadata, timecode, and record triggers, which means you really can free your camera and go wireless without compromising your production workflow. And if you are worried about prying eyes getting a sneak peek at your raw footage, the Bolt 4K LT MAX system offers enhanced AES-256 and DFS encryption to protect your footage. More than just hardware control, the Bolt Manager App allows for ultra-fast pairing of transmitter and receiver, as well as LUT output control and signal monitoring. It is available separately as a transmitter, receiver, TX/RX kit, receiver in Gold Mount, receiver in V-Mount, as well as Deluxe TX/RX kits with a carry case, array antenna, and accessories in Gold Mount or V-Mount.

With a range up to 750', Teradek’s Bolt 4K Monitor Module 750 TX is a nice bit of tech that lets you stream up to 4K30 video in 10-bit 4:2:2 HDR from a Cine 7 smart monitor to any Bolt 4K receiver. This transmitter bolts onto your monitor and streams from your Cine 7 monitor to other devices with a Bolt receiver. The Bolt 4K Monitor Module features improved range and metadata support over previous versions. In addition, it has built-in AES-256 encryption with RSA 1024 key pairing to help prevent your video from being seen by those with nefarious intent. As an added bonus, with an optional camera control license, you can use the Bolt 4K Monitor Module to access full wireless camera control of select ARRI cameras, with RED KOMODO and Sony VENICE support coming soon.

I love how Teradek is dropping support from the legacy transmitters to do 4k no one needs.  Makes me feel great about the 30K I have already invested in snallhd monitors , Teradek 1000 /3000 systems with no way to add or do them..

Guess we are going by Vaxxis

Hi Chris, this is Kat from Teradek. We are not dropping support for legacy products. Our products will continue to offer the full warranty implied at point of sale. Additionally our new Bolt 4K platforms have increases in performance that customers have been asking for: Bolt 4K's Bolt Manager App (for ease of connection), cross compatibility across the entire 4K platform, and an increase in signal integrity for 1080p signals that's noticeably better than the previous generation of Bolts, just to name a few. I can connect you with someone on our team if you'd like to learn more via email.

How about Teradeck come out with a solution that doesn't require I sell a kidney to afford?
