In the following Quick Listen demo, we check out the sounds of the Yamaha Reface CP and how it might fit into any musician’s arsenal. The demo focuses on the six different presets, each based on an original classic. The keyboard features a variety of sound presets including two Rhodes presets, a Wurlitzers, a Clavinet, a Toy Piano, and CP, which is based on the Yamaha CP80 digital grand piano. In the following video, Andrew Eisele demonstrates the Elektron Analog Heat, a tabletop stereo analog sound processor with DAW integration. You’ll hear each of the eight character circuits with selections including Clean Boost, Saturation, Enhancement, Mid-Drive, Rough Crunch, Classic Distortion, Round Fuzz, and High Gain. We’re taking a quick listen to the Sequential Prophet Rev2 Analog Synthesizer. We’re checking out the 16-voice model, but an 8-voice model is also available. The Rev2 is available in keyboard and desktop form and offers two digitally controlled analog oscillators, an analog Curtis filter, and three envelopes per voice. An extended modulation matrix, polyphonic step sequencer, multitimbral capabilities, and extensive effects along with a knob-per-function control panel make the Rev2 a powerful and versatile synth for stage and studio.
