In the following video, AB checks out the Elektron Digitone 8-Voice Digital Synth, at NAMM 2018, and how it can be a useful addition to any musician’s inventory. This video shows Elektron’s Simon Mattisson exploring the functions, controls, and features of the Digitone, including the sequencer, which allows you to sequence the eight onboard voices, as well as eight MIDI tracks for controlling external MIDI hardware. The demo showcases how easy it is to program and features some of the 512 presets with a focus on understanding the synthesizer’s structure with its FM operators and subtractive sound-shaping capabilities with high and low pass filters. Will we profile new iRig gear from IK Multimedia, Line 6’s HX Effects, and more! Or is this video actually an elaborate, pun-based ruse to foist our six favorite plectra upon you?
