Accessories such as boompoles and gear bags may not be the coolest things showcased at NAB, but every pro knows they are one of the most integral parts of a kit, playing the all-too-important supporting role for pricey microphones and wireless systems. K-Tek is a well-known name in this field, and Rob Rives checks out some of their new wares, including a 3-section graphite pole optimized for smaller spaces, in addition to a 2-section aluminum entry-level  pole. The K-225 19' boompole features 6 sections, allowing it to pack up smaller, and is also available in a cabled version. The newly announced Gizmo Bag has a clear back, allowing you to see what you have packed away without having to open the bag.  Please check back for pricing and availability.

Known for its innovative effects, audio-correction software, and mastering/mixing tools, iZotope has used NAB 2015 to unveil its next step, farther into the world of post-production and broadcast. RX Loudness Control looks to combine global loudness standards with the ease of use for which iZotope has become known. Working in faster-than-real-time, the software renders your audio to your selected loudness standard, and creates a history graph and loudness report that shows you where any overflows may be occurring. If an overage does occur, the software includes iZotope’s IRC II transparent limiting. Catering to multiple channels counts, it supports mono, stereo, and surround channel counts up to 5.1.
