For a single camera stream there are a lot more parameters and options available than this video suggests. Those other options have significant alternatives to the equipment that will be utilized (i.e., minimize the use of a PC) and the pros and cons that go with it. I have just setup my own live streaming configuration in the last week and thank goodness I didn't see this video because I would have probably given up on the spot...

Maria you can use tablets and smart phones to stream live through several apps out there, both that are singular by construct (ie look into meerkat and periscope) and those that are extensions of sites (LiveStream, UStream, YouTube, Vimeo, GoPro Live, etc)  Just keep in mind, like anything else, you will be sharing a story one way or another. So as one would for radio, TV, print and their equal evolutions in the digital world, streaming is putting on a broadcast. Private or Public, run through your who , what, when, where, why and then one more Who cares? This way, you are in the drivers seat, on or off the camera, satire or hardline. And have fun!
