Has tons of space but is absolutely huge. When on your back, you need a lot of space behind you and bump into things a lot. I ended up getting the Pro 30 model which is quite a bit smaller but still holds 2 bodies, a 70-200 f/2.8, a flash and a bunch of other lenses

Sleek, Strong and Spacious

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

I searched long and hard to find a bag that would fit my Nikon D500 with the 200-500 zoom attached to it. There are many bags that fit this combo, but this Manfrotto bag allows me to access the camera from the top and I can even fit the 200-500 in there with the lens shade in the shooting position. I wouldn't recommend leaving the lens shade extended in the bag for long trips, but when I'm repositioning in the woods I can safely and quickly move the gear.

I can't go with 5 stars because I've only had the bag for a few months. It seems like it will hold up for many years, but without knowing how durable it is I couldn't give it a 5.

This is a big bag, but if you are considering this bag you probably need the room for your equipment.

Awesome bag

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

Only gave it 4 stars as the Velcro tends to not hold after a while for the padding inside and when the bag is stuffed full, the 2 side pockets can't really be used for much. Overall a well padded and sturdy bag

Very Good Quality

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

This is a very high quality bag to hold all of your camera gear. It indeed is capable of fitting quite the collection. I use it to carry 2 camera bodies, 3 lenses, two monopod heads, and a gimbal. Even with all of that, it still manages to have a large amount of cushioning. You can be confident about holding all of the gear as well, because the straps and zippers associated with the bag are well constructed / supported. The pads are removable and readjustable in case you would like to rearrange how everything is set up.

Great pack for the professional

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

I am a professional wedding photographer, and I was looking for a new backpack that was very durable and could hold multiple Nikon D800E's and multiple lenses and flashes. This bag was perfect. The quality is great, I wouldn't expect anything less from Manfrotto.

Well built, but way too HUGE!!

By Sitaram

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

Sturdiness, build quality, materials - 5/5. That's what you'd expect from Manfrotto.

But it is way too huge. You should be at least about 34'' waist for it to be comfortably sitting on your back when you are carrying this backpack. It has space for everything you'd ever want to carry, and then some. Meaning it will get really heavy, really easily.
the only qualm i have is with how it is designed. the styling on this is just an awfully done job. Also, there are only very few pockets on the outside that you can access. And of these, not all are really useful.
Looking at this in hand, i think it is made ONLY for air travel.
*Definitely* not your everyday carry around backpack.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

A very sturdy backpack for carrying a lot of camera gear and a laptop. I store my Nikon D7200 attached to a Sigma Sports 150-600mm lens with 1.75" to spare, so I'm ready to pull it out and get a shot. Has room for several other lenses and accessories. Although it's rather big, when the straps are adjusted ring it fits on my back quite comfortably even though it's loaded with lots of lenses and accessories. Highly recommended if you need the camera and a large lens ready to go.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

I use the pack for day hikes on trails and carry photo equipment, lunch and some emergency gear (warm clothes, multi-tool, fire starter, headlamp, first aid kit etc.).

It would have been better if the pack had some external loops to hook carabiners onto for attaching more gear and maybe a water bottle holder or water bladder compartment. It is kind of a pain to have to stop and take the pack off to get water or a snack. The belt strap could really use load adjuster/tension straps like the shoulder straps have. Some blaze orange coloring would also be nice for hiking during hunting season. I haven't used the rain cover yet, but it looks functional.
I'll likely modify the pack to add some of these things in the future.
I'm pretty happy with the size of the pack. I previously purchased a couple of adventure type photo gear backpacks made by Manfrotto and other companies and was very disappointed with how small they were. At least this pack is a reasonable size for a day in the woods, and it looks like it can protect photo gear while being fairly durable and lightweight.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

The design of this bag has quality and durability in mind for the Pro-Photographer. Really happy I can now also carry my 70-200 lens along with adequate light gear and typical items for a shoot away from the office. I removed the velcro retained hip-straps because that is not usually necessay for what I do - but if a hike is involved it will be re-installed. This is a great bag to carry and protect valuable equipment and yet not look like a super conspicious photographer.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

I needed upgrade to a bigger bag. Considered and bought Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW Camera and Laptop Backpack. It was very big and internal compartment was cavernous with deviderss. However, I did not like it. So went to B&H to return it and was introduced to Manfrotto 50. This bag is excellent in all aspects. It is awesome.
BUT, the exterior material tends to collect dust and lint. I do not understand why it was selected for the photobag. If it was made of other material like the one used by Lowepro, for example, then it would be get 5 stars from me.

Comments about Manfrotto Pro Backpack 50:

This is a large backpack with lots of room. Easy access to my 7D with the 70-200mm f2.8 lens attached. It stands up on its own which is nice not to have a bag falling over. Solid construction. The only thing that keeps it from five stars is that the shoulder straps are not as comfortable as the Tamrac backpack that I had for many years. The Tamrac's zippers would not close anymore so I purchased this model. Only time will tell if it is as durable.

This backpack is Very Roomy. Meaning you can fit a lot of gear. You are also able to configure the compartments to how you see the best way to store and protect your gear. Strong zippers here and there, pockets everywhere. This pack is again, loaded with placed to store gear. Construction is strong. Big PLUS+.....The padding that your back rests against when hauling all your gear in this pack. Another Big Plus++ the waist belt. Does a great job of distributing the way evenly across your back. It's time to trek off into the backcountry for some landscape shots. Don't worry about the rain....yeah that's right, comes with a rain cover too. Can't say enough. Just buy it!

Lots of room, pockets, customizable options, and works with a variety of cameras (I use mine for a BMCC). Though it does not fall into the recommended bags in the various filtered searches, I recommend it for BlackMagic's cinema cameras. With a cage and tripod you can carry everything you need to shoot on your back. The adjustment straps also make it feel very lightweight and comfortable while filled with gear.

I bought this as a gift for my husband who is a backpack journalist. He has a mix of equipment between photography and videography. He was easily able to fit all of this equipment in this bag, including his tripod. It does get a big heavy when full, but it is built with durable & supportive straps to distribute this weight.
