Extreme Speed make this computer with a 1TB flash drive stand out. Open huge photoshop files and giant excel files with no wait time. Much lighter than my previous MacBook Pro and long battery life.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer with Retina Display (Late 2013):

MacBook Pro is outstanding. Easy to use; brilliant display. B&H was excellent in fulfilling my order. Previously, my Nikon binoculars were perfect and B&H service and pricing brought me back for my computer upgrade. As a naturalist, I've recommended many to B&H as the one-stop-shop for high-end and affordable equipment. B&H continues to impress.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer with Retina Display (Late 2013):

Coming from a older MBP, I have to tell you that this laptop is freakin sweet.

Im still getting used to Maverick coming from Snow Leopard, but Im coming along. The speed of the SSD is great. I use it mostly for pics and vids and really notice the difference in speed memory and SSD wise.

Only thing is the price. I had to subsidize the purchase with the sale of my last MBP. But worth it.

Comments about Apple 15.4" MacBook Pro Notebook Computer with Retina Display (Late 2013):

I had an Apple IIGS as my first computer and I had the first iPod. Now I have the iPhone 5 and the iPad Air. I've used Windows as long as it's been out as well and am a Microsoft Certified Professional with several ratings. So I guess you could say I'm a fan of both Apple and Microsoft (although probably for different reasons -- and I try not to overlook great Linux distros either, e.g. Ubuntu). I build custom desktop PCs and servers. Now it's time for a Mac and the MacBook Pro would fill the role of the "portable multimedia powerhouse" that I've convinced myself I need in order to serve my expensive amateur photography hobby (to which B&H has profited well). If you're thinking about getting a MacBook Pro and you already have an iPad, I'd aim for the 15" model because it really feels like the perfect size. If you can afford it, get the SSD and 16GB of RAM -- this machine is so lightening fast that I can't even believe it. And it SHOULD be for over $[$]. I'm warming up to OS X and it's bringing me back to my System 7 days (some things haven't changed... and a LOT has). For you Windows users who haven't used an Apple computer in 15+ years (COMPUTER, not iPad), this thing is pretty neat. You might be frustrated initially with OS X but be patient and be willing to put in some effort scouring YouTube and the web for tutorials and tips on how best to use Mavericks (which is part of the fun, honestly). I'm impressed with the interoperability between NTFS and the Mac File System, and if your networked Windows machines are running the Bonjour service (they probably are) then sharing files back and forth should be easy. If it's not, use an SD card or a portable hard drive. Or iCloud. Or SkyDrive. Or SugarSync. Or.......etc. The Retina display is a REQUIREMENT, in my opinion, and is arguably this machine's best feature. Another really nice feature I didn't think I would like is the gesture-sensitive track pad. It works very much like the iPad (I'm talking to non Mac-users here of course) with 2- and 3-finger swiping up, down, left, right... It's awesome. Bottom line: if you're thinking about getting one of these precision instruments, stop thinking and just buy it already. It's an investment you shouldn't regret.

This is a big upgrade from my 2010 model. The performance is really good and unlike my previous laptop, it does not have any moving parts and therefore feels more reliable. Apple did a great job at cooling. The computer is very quiet and the heat dissipation works really well. The Retina screen is gorgeous.

The only thing I do not like is the new design of the MagSafe connector - it comes off quite easily.
