Comments about Apple Mac Pro Desktop Computer (Quad-Core, Late 2013):

Use with Hauptwerk and Digital Audio Samples for Cathedral and Theatre organs. Converted a Rodgers 321 Theatre Organ to MIDI. The 32GB ram and 512 SSD are very effective in handling the Salisbury Cathedral organ and Milan Digital Audio's MarterWorks 331 Wurlitzer organ. So far, one issue persists - the Hauptwerk USB License Key requires 50 milliamps. Even though the MacPro shows 500 ma available- the key repeatedly fails communication. After a day attempting all possible causes, Milan Digital Audio suggesting purchasing a SEPARATE POWERED USB PORT. That definitely solved the problem. The license key has continual communication during lengthy 'loading organ' periods. Apparently, there must be peaks whereby communication to the USB Key is lost due to lack of power. All USB ports were tried since they may be on different busses. Same issue persisted. Resolution - go to [*] and purchase a $39.99 externally powered USB port. I think Apple should address this issue. You are using a professional products in BOTH the computer and software at professional pricing. It seems odd to need to purchase a $39.99 powered USB port at [*]s for a $4,000.00 professional computer.Apple/tech support will be contacted. Otherwise, it would be rated a '5 Star'.
