Bottom Line is, I would recommend this camera to anyone starting out with DSLR. As well as, any pro who needs a beater to do time lapse, and for anyone considering a Mirrorless for the compactness of street photography. I got this camera because someone stole my D3200. It's the best value for a DSLR, and I use it for 4K time-lapse, video, and street photography. No crook is going to deny me of my photography. PROS: I like the color depth, the video mode of 60p at full HD that captures a lot more data for processing than the D3200 and D7100. And it may sound cheesy but I really like the Easy Panorama function. Also, 24mpx sensor captures huge JPEG files for time-lapse processing. And for RAW files, side by side testing with my D7100 in 12bit mode, both have identical image quality: I guess due to the No OLP filter. However, the 14bit losses file of the D7100 captures more data and is way better for processing dramatic colors and dynamic range. CONS: A little less dynamic range than the D3200, no hot shoe cover, and no viewfinder cover. Also, the newer kit lens is ideal smaller and faster than the older 18-55mm VR kit lens, the older kit lens is a little sharper wide open. I don't know if it's just this lens, but I find the older/larger 18-55 kit VR kit lens a little better in image quality. Anyway, IMO Nikon has always made the best low cost DSLR. It is packed with a lot of modern features for a great price. And this huge paragraph is written this way because, my reviews are not displayed with paragraphs, even though I write it proper. FYI, if you do time-lapse in JPEG, you can get over 1300 shots out of one battery charge.

A lightweight and easy camera to operate. The quick start guide in the instruction book was all I needed to be out photographing right away.

The 18-55 mm lens is adequate for most close up or immediate shots. I long for more accuracy in distance photos with this lens, but with the auto settings it works fine.

Overall, the camera is a mobile, all around good camera to begin with. If you long for more precise pictures, pick up better lenses and specialty items.

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

I selected the D3300 as my first DSLR. Knowing that I can use multiple lenses was a big driver to select a Nikon. Wifi and all the wiz bang options of other models was not as important to me. I was expecting this to be heavy after a point and shoot. It is surprisingly very, very light! Completely satisfied with purchase.

I've got 2 d3300 and 1 d3400. i prefer the white balance of the d3300. it did not dissapoint me during my coverage of my school graduations especially with my prime lens of 50mm and 35mm. Got crisp sharp photos of the students . I'll buy another one for next year school graduation....

Nikon D3300 it's all there

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

The images are very sharp. We found controls are easy to find. Uploading pictures was straight-forward. It is really fun to explore the features carefully, for example taking the same shot with different apertures or different white-balance settings or different focal-areas, and examining the effects by zooming in on the resulting pictures. All settings with which a shot was taken transfer automatically to iPhoto, and from there easily to LightRoom if desired. We also bought an UV filter and a 70-300 tellers. The manual is a bit too terse; some features are not described and we only found them through trial and error (for example: how to display the settings of the shot when viewing an image.)

First DSLR and Very Happy

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

Though this is my first real DSLR I know enough of the very basics to make me dangerous with a camera. After a lot of researching and reviews this model came up time and time again so I pulled the trigger. I waited for a package deal on here that was kitted with the 18-55mm lens and included the Commando 25 bag, Nikon's wireless adapter and a 16G Sandisk SD card.
Even though I decided to get this for mostly travel, outdoor and landscapes the first few shots around the house in the priority modes made me very happy. I'm sure I'll dive into more manual as time goes on, but out of the gate I can see why this camera has gotten so many of the constant good reviews that it has.

Photos not crisp and clear.

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

This camera is nice and light and easy to use. I wanted it to replace a Canon that I have whose flash is obnoxiously bright and continuous. The photos were soft. Not crisp and clear and remarkable like the Canon. Nothing I did could clear them up and no service person could tell me how to do that so I sent it back.

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Red):

I'd say that I am a beginner photographer and so far this camera has been great! I think for the price you really get great quality photos and videos. I recommend this camera to anyone just starting out because it doesn't feel too complicated and really easy to get the hang of. This is a camera you can put into full manual which is what I wanted but the only downfall is that I can't seem to do manual white balance but other than that its great.

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

I shoot 200 - 500 photos for work every day. Professional quality is not my concern - I need to be able to take good quality rapid fire photos both indoors and outdoors. This camera has been wonderful in fulfilling those requirements.

A camera with capability that is hard to outgrow

By Mark

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

This is a great beginner to intermediate camera. Right out of the box is has an automatic mode as easy to use as a point-and-shoot - but faster and more accurate. The manual mode falls right under the finger tips and, with a little practice, is faster to set than the range finder camera I used as boy.

This camera has resolution and low light capability that is equal or better than any thing it its class.

It is hard to imagine a situation where this camera would not be a very, very good choice.

Phenomenal

Comments about D3300 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens (Black):

I experimented with several cameras before finally settling for this one. The mistake I made was to narrow my search to mirrorless cameras, none of which could surpass the quality of my smart phone despite their high prices. So I did a bit of research and found out that I had to shift my focus to DSLR cameras, which while heavier and bulkier, is the only way to truly guarantee quality. It's amazing how much this camera outperformed every mirrorless camera I tried, including those some hundreds of dollars more expensive. It's much less sensitive to motion and produces images that are blatantly more crisp and clear. I suppose the lesson here is to do research and to always know what you're buying.
