I already owned the PL 25F1.4 when I ordered this (I got a deal I couldn't refuse). I've since sold it after just a few weeks for a net profit, but it's a fantastic lens. If I hadn't had the Panaleica, I would have surely kept it as a mainstay. Both lenses are great, and you are probably wondering how they compare. To most eyes the differences are minimal. Output is similar and both are great IQ and nice Bokeh. You'd have a hard time telling them apart really. The PL is a half stop faster, but is larger and has a big lens hood that is not reversible. The Oly is better looking and will fit in a pocket easier and weighs less. Looks nice on the EM5 or EPM2IF I didn't own one, I'd probably go with the Olympus. Smaller, cheaper, better looking (if it matters to you). The PL is a special lens, but the Olympus is very very close, if not equal. If you must have F1.4, well then you made up your mind. Combined with the EM5, it's amazing what you can get in low light with the Panny...the Olympus isn't far behind if at all though.Wait for a rebate from Olympus to get it cheaper.Pros:Smaller form factor than PanasonicGood low lightFast focusNice build quality (on par w/45mm)Comes w/Lens hoodPairs well with Pens or OMD camerasNice lookingCons:Lens ring could be lost potentially. Must be removed to use lens hood. (you won't need it that much though)

The lens is great, over all. Days ago, I was very happy with it, but just like that it start making a weird noise when is trying to focus. I don't know why, but is very annoying, all my videos have that weird noise like clicking. If you use the manual focus the issue is gone, but I buy this system for the video recording in the first time, so is kind of sad.

Very well made, very sharp. Have this on a X5S cam and it's an outstanding combination.

A cornerstone lens.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black):

I use this universal prime lens for virtually any kind of work, thus "universal." It really makes a good example of why Four Thirds added "Micro" to the name. I like small lenses that produce excellent image quality and this is one that works incredibly well adding the advantage of more exposure and detail across the entire image. It focuses fast and is so easy to put in my pocket should I be using another lens. I can get results from this as good as results on a lens that can be priced far higher. This lens is all about opportunity and reliability.

This was my Christmas present to me. I love this lens. So far I've taken it to family get-togethers and museums. The most challenging was the Charles River Museum of Industry. Very busy backgrounds and a very wide range of lighting conditions let me take the lens through its paces.

I couldn't be more pleased. Crisp renderings, creamy backgrounds, and nice color, lovely. Even the dust came out well!

Bought this lens for the X5R camera system. Been flying it on the inspire. Lens is sharp, lightweight, and works with the X5R's autofocus system.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black):

I bought this lens to obtain 50mm equivalent focal length on the X5. This lens seems to focus more quickly and decisively than the 15 mm DJI lens that comes with the X5. It is a great lens for a 4/3 camera.

Excellent choice

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black):

I've done a lot of reading and YouTube watching before buying this lens. Based on my research, I decided that paying almost 4 times more for a pro lens was not worth it in my case. Still, I was not 100% sure that this was a good choice. By now I shot enough photos with this lens and quite sure that this was a great choice. Not one shot was a disappointment - they all were either good or great. This lens is very, very sharp and works well in low light situations. The color reproduction is excellent, I wouldn't wish for more. The lens is very small, which is important to me, since a majority of my photos are taken during travel, and this was the reason why I primarily use E-PL8 body. I am attaching a sample - direct export from RAW, no post-processing, no filters, shot in pour light in Miracle Mile, Las Vegas during the rainstorm simulation. I didn't have tripod with me either, a combination of image stabilization in the body and a fast lens works great.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black):

This is the lens I use for street photography. Of course it is light and compact but what I love about it is the color rendition, which is excellent and the fact that the images it produces usually require little correction.

Comments about M.Zuiko Digital 25mm f/1.8 Lens (Black):

Was looking for a relatively fast but very small prime. Waffled between something around 17mm or 45mm. This was kind of in the middle. Factor in size, weight and price, and decided on this lens. And it still fits in a small jacket / photo vest pocket. As a bonus, I really like that it focuses to just under 8-in., and for close-ups indoors, this works perfectly for me. (FWIW: 4 stars is usually the best I give for outstanding products, 5 stars is reserved for extraordinary products. 4-1/2 stars would be a better rating for this lens.)
