I was considering a backpack to carry my lenses and audio gear until I came across the x series by Lowepro. I initially was looking at the x100 and decided to go bigger knowing I would be adding more gear over time. The x300 carries tons of gear and is highly versatile with divider placement. The build quality of this bag is high, zippers are heavy duty as are the wheels. I highly recommend the x300, best bag I've ever owned.

I am an international wedding photographer so my bags take some abuse. I had a Lowepro X300 pro roller bag and ended up selling it a couple years back as I was scaling back my business. Of course, business picked up again and I ordered another one. HOWEVER this available model is a "newer" design and has many, many flaws over the older version.

Primarily, the "base" lining against the bottom of the bag is very hard plastic with little velour on it. So your gear will start to show signs of rubbing, and I question the ability to protect in a drop. Second, the handle has channels that run vertically down the back of the bag. So your gear will sit unevenly and will wobble around. I tried stuffing the gaps with extra dividers, but that was cheap and not uniform.

Last, the overall quality has really taken a nosedive. Try hard to find a new or even used version of the original X300!

The older version is better

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I borrowed my friend X300 bag because I needed to use a bigger bag and it was great, I could fit to 5D Mark 4 with the lenses attach 24 to 70 70 200. so I decide to get to this new x300 bag. When I was setting up the bag I found out there's a big problem if you put two cameras with the lenses on it there was so much wasted space and the dividers are not flexible enough like the old version so you have to setup the bag in a particular way.

Terrible Bag

By Kristin

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

Bottom is conformed to the handles so it is not flat. Lenses do not sit flat on the bottom and there is 0 padding to protect them. 70-200mm lens will not fit. Do not buy this bag!

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

Terrific for me not to haul all in one - never looking back with worry over something left behind - drawbacks: very heavy when full and NOT NTSB overhead bin sized (x200 AW DOES fit in overhead for travel - would have real world concerns checking this bag as luggage to be thrown around by airline baggage handlers...

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I'm a wedding photographer and need lots of storage and with this bag I get everything I need. I have access to everything at once. This bag can be easily manipulated on the wheels and takes the stress on a back away.

I would recommend this bag to everyone and anyone who is looking for a spacious and easy maneuverablilty type of bag.

This bag makes my life really easy.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I bought this bag about a month ago. It's a really well made bag and fits everything I need for any photography gig. The wheels make it really easy to drag it anywhere i need to go. This bag is a little bigger than a carry on bag so you can't take it with you as carry on luggage but you can check it in. I carry one Nikon D800 with 24-70 mounted on it...a 2nd Nikon D800 with a 70-200 mounted on it. All the flashes I own, a couple of my prime lenses and still has space to hold some additional stuff. I have used it at a couple of wedding photography gigs. I used to carry 2 backpacks so it makes my life really easy!

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I've been a ThinkTank consumer for years. I decided to give Lowepro a try. Wow! Love this roller. It holds 3 pro gripped bodies, lenses and speed lights, along with power packs, cables, etc. May not go back to ThinkTank.

Very Flexible System

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

As my camera equipment and location shooting needs have grown, I found that I needed a larger storage system. This bag fits my needs. Impressed with the flexibility it offers. The removable dividers can be relocated as needed to fit a wide variety of equipment storage needs. Appreciate the protection that it provides. Good solid feel, fit and finish. Enjoy the ability to use the rollers rather than carry in environments that allow it. The interior detaches and offers the ability to be used as a backpack when needed. Great design.

Not made to last

By Maz

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I will divide my view into: "good", "not so good", "Not well made".

Good:
Large size. And, Deep. Will hold a lot of stuff, especially large lenses.
Many compartment dividers to use and then some. And, two ice small zippered bags.
See through pockets on the inside of the top cover.

Not So Good:
Design and material.
Not so sure about the wheels. They seem OK.

Not well made:
The first thing I noted was the large main zipper. Not durable. Not smooth. In my case the left side zipper gets stuck just after one brings it past the left corner. Not broken. No obstruction. But will not go beyond that spot.
The pull handle is flimsy. Rattles. In & out are not very smooth
The base of the bag has no padding, just the two fabrics between your stuff & the flimsy handle.
The bag has a spot for a camera with a lens attached, but there are two more to the side of it. Meaning three U-shaped gapped dividers on one end, but only one camera fits. None on the opposite side.
The pocket for the laptop has not zipper and is too tight to fit a laptop.

Strong and Sturdy Rolling Bag

By Harlan

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

A good, sturdy bag. I've never owned one so I have nothing to compare it to but I like this one. Strong zippers, good padding, and large wheels. If I had to make just one complaint, it's the inside pockets. Sometimes, if it's dark, I have a hard time identifying the contents due to a grey webbing in the sleeve plastic. It wouldn't stop me from purchasing another just like this but I wish the plastic was clear.

Great bag!

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

Finally all our gear fits in one place! Super smooth rolling bag makes weddings a breeze!
The inside comes out like a backpack so I can store small light heads or more flashes in the rolling cart. Feels very sturdy and solid.
I do wish the pockets on the flap were a little more loose, it can be hard to get things out. Overall awesome bag!

Fits my stuff good

By Chris

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I had a hard time gauging how big some of these rolling cases are. For me, I needed something bigger than a carry on size, and surprisingly there aren't that many options. But I went with this one because of the price and the size. I'm really happy with it. I was able to move everything from a carry on size case and a backpack into this one case and I still have room for more.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I bought this bag to try the size. I have a Pelican 1614 and this bag is similar size in terms the amount of stuff you can fit inside. I ended up returning it though. Only because it was too big for my needs. I shoot a lot of weddings and often times the space is tight. This page could easily tip the 50b mark when completely full. Also the bag falls over when I put another bag on top of it. Same was true for the x200.

Comments about Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW:

I'm very happy with this roller! Going into it, I knew it was going to be a big, (and fairly heavy bag). However, I needed a solution for both my video and audio kit and this fit the bill. It comes with a plethora of dividers and really gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of rearranging your gear. The wheels are super smooth (I love that they're replaceable) and the construction overall feels really sturdy. I wish there were a few more pockets here and there (My previous bag was a think tank airport backpack), and I wish the laptop compartment was zippered, but overall I'm really glad to have gotten this roller.
