Comments about Canon EOS C100 Cinema EOS Camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF and EF-S 18-135mm IS STM Lens:
This camera shoots very sharp footage, and even though the codec isn't super robust (for heavy grading) the Canon log / cinema mode and dynamic range leaves me plenty of room for the kinds of effects and grading I'm interested in doing. When I am working with green screen for clients I slap on an external recorder to get that 422 color and I'm set! The difference between this camera and the 5D3 is the same as any rebel to the 5D3. If you want to do video and you've got the funds for the 5D3 and a rig / focus pull system, just get the C100 with the AF upgrade; you will be glad you did! The small file size of avchd, broader DR, sharper footage, and real film making tools / features physically available via external buttons and switches on this thing has my dslrs officially replaced for video production. Thinking about buying this camera? Do it! By the time you buy all the peripheral junk you need to achieve the built in functions of this machine in an under featured fully manual body, you'd be near the same price point and you'd have to bolt everything together every time you use it (or lug around a huge box!) This thing works right out of the box and kicks major button!
