I use polarizers just like any other photography tool, sometimes I remember to use one, sometimes I don't. And like other tools any change to the image regardless of how subtle might be the "thing" that makes that particular image "just right" rather than one of the thousands of mundane photographs on your external hard drive. I haven't used this filter tons yet but thus far I like it's warming affect which seems to clarify and enhance all colors where standard polarizers work mostly on blues when I use them. I shot these two photos for you to compare for yourself. Both shot with Nikon 28-70 2.8 at F4, ISO 200 using a D7000 on a terrible smokey cool morning. Both frames handheld Aperature priority. The affect is subtle but notice it in the shadowy areas and the alteration or saturation of color. I think this filter has the potential to be very very good given the right light and weather conditions. I'm anxious for an opportunity to test that theory. Maybe the coast in a few weeks hmmmm

Like other reviews, it gets stuck on really easy - this is because the thread ring is too thin and flexible. When you press on it to remove it, you deform the ring and it binds. I've found the way to remove it is to quickly turn the filter portion and the friction there easily gets the thread ring loose enough to turn by hand.

Also, minimal polarizing if any at all.

Great filter for altitude

By GeoRanger

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

Living at high elevation here in the west, the light has definite blue cast. The 81 A built into this UV filter really helps balance this. Also if you use to shoot Kodachrome, Agfa, or Velvia you will love this filter.

It meets my expectations.

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I sometimes use an 81A for portraiture especially when shooting flash outdoors in 5500K light. The 81A tones down the blue light and gives a warm, pleasing image. I saw this 81A polarizer and decided to give it a try. It also gives a warm tone to my images in bright sunlight.

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I own a (Moose) warm circular polarizer filter for each lens. I appreciate this lens when photographing fall colors, especially if the colors need just a little boost. I read about Moose lenses years ago and wouldn't think about shooting landscape and fall colors without one.

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I purchased this filter as an experiment to see if I could get my photos to appear as they do through my sunglasses. I am often disappointed when I pull over to set up the tripod and realize that the lighting is not as dramatic as it appears through polarized glasses. And this filter did the trick.

I use this with a Canon 17-40mm L series lens, and it produces a vignette until around 20mm, but only has black corners at 17mm.

Depending on the degree of the circular polarizer, some photos result with inconsistent light across a relatively evenly lit sky (one darker corner or a dark top of the photo). Other polarizer filters perform similarly.

If I were to take away any stars, it'd be for the depth of the filter which causes vignettes at wider angles. I'd recommend buying one size larger and a step up ring to avoid vignetting.

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

I am a novice photographer. Since photography is only a hobby for me, I am limited on the amount of money I can spend on resources. I needed a polarizer because I find myself shooting a lot of waterfalls and rivers where reflections were killer. This has been a welcomed addition to reduce the glare I was fighting. The relatively affordable price for a great piece of gear is also a plus.

I am on my way to spend about a month backpacking in Alaska next week and decided to try this filter. I spent some time in Arkansas recently and this filter is more than I expected. Fit was Awesome and tight. The circular filter is a nice change from my non circular and the warm tones I got in the morning and evening were nothing less than spectacular. Hitting the rapids later in the day I decided to take the camera. The pics I got of the fish were unreal. I'm a fisherman and the filter allowed me to shoot the fish under the water and I had some great shots of some nice stripers up in the shallow water. I'm sold.

Early morning, mid day and late evening this filter improves the overall look and removes any harsh light from your scene. The warming effect also softens the photo in ways which appear very natural. You will be amazed at the appearance your photos have just using this filter.

It helps to remove the brightness of the sun and really give my photos a more natural look. If I am outdoors in the daylight hours it is always on my camera. Thanks Moose Peterson for putting together such an enjoyable camera/lens accessory.

Comments about Hoya 77mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter:

Adds contrast and warm color to gain better pictures.

If there was a mark for neutral position it would be excellent

Fall sunshine and bright blue skies. A must have for leaf peepers out there to enhance your autumn colors.
